Cowichan Valley Fiber Show this Saturday October 25 th

    

So here is a piece  of fusion with machine and hand embroidered stitches. The one below is the fusion before stitching! The bag at the bottom used the stitched piece for the flap!! 

It and many other bags and accessories will be on display and for sale on Saturday. 

It is also my grandson Max' s 1st birthday. He is the cutie under neath the bag picture!

Live on Diggit

So this week I have spent (when not working at my day job ) getting my shop set up on a local on line shopping sight. It is based in Victoria where I live, which is a bonus. A few glitches with posting photos but the support team have been very responsive. Still only posting one ad a day! Stay tuned for more ads!

So my days off have changed from Fri. To Mon. A bit of an adjustment but so far so good. 

Thor doesn't like it when I spend the whole day creating so I have brought his blanket and toy into the studio 

With any luck he will stop peeing on the furniture legs cause he is annoyed.

So I have been working on a fuchsia bag for a friend and I did struggle with the fusion piece. Tried 2 and made them up 1 with velvet and 1 with silk. Then I took a vote at family dinner and this the 1 that won, I was pleased cause it was my choice.

I like that the bit of blue adds some interest.

It is not embellished but I will do so and I think pair it with black silk and velvet.

So stay tuned as the bag will be finished today!!!  The commission 1. 

Then I am going to make some jewellery using epoxy clay. A full day of creating!

Open house day 2

Lovely sunny day in Victoria, open house take 2. Yesterday was great great energy from those who came by!

I will be at the market square craft show and sale December7th.,I am very excited about this opportunity as there are lots  of activities that day and my mom will be here, and my daughter in law is playing in a concert that day. Promises to be fun.

For now cider is on and I am making a bag in my studio.  Following are 2 new crocheted pieces I made yesterday,

Open house 2nd Annual

I have spent all day preparing for my 2nd annual Open House. The shortbread is ready a few Christmas ornaments around and cider ready for the crock pot! 

Please note that the dates in the times Colonist are incorrect :( they should read. Saturday November 23rd  10. -4 and Sunday November 24 12-4. If someone drops by Monday my steady wingman will be here.

Day at Cowichan fleece and Fibre Festival

I was a vendor at the Cowichan Fleece and Fibre Festival yesterday. It was a very busy show lots of people non stop all say. I did a demo is silk fusion as well which was fun. Felted bags were popular as well as a new scarf toggle I had for the first time. I create a piece of sculpted fusion and add it to some crocheted wire. Then attach to the purchased ring. I only had 5 finished. More will be available at my open house in November. 

I am a Grandmother as of Friday Oct. 25th when my grandson Maxwell was born in Victoria. So I was at the hospital instead of being in the studio!
