I started making bags in the fall of 2010 as a way to balance my life. My day job is as a registered nurse and while I love nursing, the creative process of working with these bags and other art balances the work of nursing. I use 100% wool, and silk as well as what I like to call "funny fibers" like polyester and nylon, which create interesting textures. Most of my bags are lined with silk or polyester to create a great finish and allow for pockets.

Finished!!!!
So the market may have been rained out but the gag is done! Well needs a slide for the strap. I have ordered some and should be here tomorrow.
Market for Magbags a no go due to rain!!
So packed the car last night hoping that the forecast would be not correct yet again. Alas it was Bang on. We made the trip up island just in case but when we arrived it was raining hard and the bags would have got wet.
So we opted to not set up and went for breakfast with a friend and watched the rain fall. It was pouring as we drove back down the Malahat home.
Ah we'll there is always next year.
Now to finish thr turquoise bag.

creating a bag start to finish
so today I set out to make a bag asked for by a/friend. She said no rush and that was 3 weeks ago! Note to self better to have a deadline! I thought I had a'piece of fusion created but not enough so first I need to create the fusion fabric. As I hung it out to dry, took a photo. Inspirstion I will blog the process over the next few days until it is a completed bag. so watch this space as the process unfolds!

Where did a Year Go
It has been a year since I have posted. However I have been creating, ugardening, and working at my day job. 1of my boys got married so lots of d fun had by all. This curtailed my participation in summer markets so I only have attended fibrations in August so far this year.
I will be at South Cowichan Market Sunday September 22 from 10-3.
I will also bethe Fibre Festival at Cobble Hill on Saturday October 26th 10-4.
This is my 1'st time at this festival and I am excited to be attending. I also hope to demonstrate silk fusion.
Last year I had my 1st Holiday open house which I will have again this year dates not yet confirmed but likely the 1st weekend in December.
My mom is moving here from the prairies before just before Christmas, which is exciting for our whole family! So my time will be busy, but the creative work keeps me grounded and focused.
Well I have some photos to,post, and I am going work at posting more often. Follow me on Facebook too!
